Social Science and the Jewish Question: Orthodox Lives in the 21st Century

Please join us for a series of public events, which explore the social sciences and Jewish orthodoxies in the 21st century. This is the culmination event for the New York Working Group on Jewish Orthodoxies, which has been meeting over the 2016-2017 academic year. Events include a key note lecture by Nathaniel Deutsch on hipsters vs. hasidim in Williamsburg; a sneak preview of the new Yiddish film, Menashe, with producer in conversation with media scholar/anthropologist Faye Ginsubrg; and a roundtable discussion on ethnography and Jewish studies with prominent scholars, moderated by Samuel Heilman.

All events will be held at Fordham University, Lincoln Center and are free and open to the public.
