Rams Set for First Home Football Game of Season

0

The 2007 Fordham University football team will play its first home game on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. against the University at Albany at Jack Coffey Field. All Fordham students with identification will be admitted to the game for free.

The 2007 season marks Fordham’s 125th anniversary of football. In 1882, intercollegiate football became a reality at the University when the Rams defeated Seton Hall University in their first-ever contest, and the team would go on to post a 6-1 record in that inaugural season.

Fordham will celebrate that storied history all season with giveaways of special posters at each home game. The posters are reprints of football game program covers from throughout the years. After each game, the posters will be available for sale at the Fordham Bookstore. Fordham’s official Homecoming game will be on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Jack Coffey Field at 1 p.m.

Home games will also have something for young children this fall with the debut of the Rose Hill Fun Park, where kids can have their faces painted, play on inflatable rides and meet the Ram. The park will open two hours before kickoff at each of the first four home games and will be located on Edwards Parade. For the Homecoming game, the park will be located next to the tents on the Martyrs’ Court lawn.
